There are many new pictures available now. There are pictures from Cub Scouts, including the Space Derby, the Pinewood Derby, and the Blue and Gold Banquet (where Neo received his Bear badge). There are also some pictures from the clan in Dallas enjoying the snow day up there.
There are some changes coming soon to the Blogger service which will no doubt interrupt the website, so the website may not receive any updates until I have time to re-architect it. :(

There are quite a few events to report on!
Neo and I had two camping trips this month in the new tent. The first was just him and I. We tried out the tent and had fun fishing and hiking. The second trip was with the cub scouts. I think Neo had lots of fun both times. I went ahead and combined all the pictures from both trips into one folder in the Events section called "2009 - March camping trips". Highlights included seeing snakes and alligators, Neo getting a corn snake laid around his neck (his favorite part), Neo catching way more fish than me, noisy armadillos, sneaky racoons, campfires, and amazing breakfast meals like this one:
Also this month, Christian took the kids to a local farm to pick strawberries. You can see all the pictures here.
And lastly, we made a trip to the park and had a picnic. That was a fun day. Pictures from that are here.
We are looking forward to more of this weather so we can spend more time outdoors!

Finally have the internet back. Things are still struggling to get back to normal around here. Two weeks after Hurricane Ike there are still people without power, trees down everywhere, traffic lights out, stores closed, curfews, schools closed, and general confusion. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost so much, especially the Galveston residents. Many people can comprehend what a hurricane can do to physical structures after seeing the images on TV. By many _cannot_ comprehend what hurricanes do to communities and families. There is no insurance for that.
We were very fortunate. Along with being blessed with good health and a good vehicle to evacuate in, and family to stay with, and great kids who can weather 9 hours in a truck... we were also blessed with minimal damage to the house and power being restored very quickly.
We spent a few days cleaning up and helping our neighbors clean up. Neo is getting a good lesson in helping his community. We still have a small tree leaning on the house, but we hope to talk to the neighbors and get that cleared up soon.
Neo's school finally started back up yesterday. I think he was ready to get back to some normalcy. He's also anxiously awaiting his birthday (I'll post again with some details about that).
Thanks to Vince, Amy, Ethan, and Kyle for their hospitality and help. We really appreciate it.
A couple of pictures of the minor damage we took are here.

I had a great birthday. A birthday breakfast. A wonderful day at work.
And then, when I came home, Neo handed me a menu he had made with crayon saying "Mommy's Kitchen". He showed me to my seat and asked what I would like to drink (after pointing out the drink selection on the menu). Next up, he asked what dressing I would like on my salad.
He and Mom had prepared an amazing meal in "Mommy's Kitchen" along with dessert and a cup of coffee. Oh man it was good.
Thanks guys. It was great.
Fast forward a few days. We are in Dallas having evacuated from Hurricane Ike. We are watching the weather and the initial reports so far are not good. It sounds like Kemah may already be under water. They are also predicting a 20 feet storm surge in Galveston. Galveston has a sea wall that is only 17 feet high.
Keep the Houston area in your prayers. We'll see you guys on the other side.

Thankfully, it looks like we won't get very bad weather from TS Eduard. The storm moved slightly to the north, putting us south and west of the center.
I'm sure we'll still get quite a bit of rain today though.
